Sydney Opera House - Aiming for 5 Star Green Star by 2023
Sydney Opera House, one of the most recognizable building in the world, has recently released their updated sustainability strategy.
After receiving 4 Star Green Star rating in 2015, the management is setting ambitious goal of achieving 5 Star Green Star rating by 2023, which would be amazing to see a building which was designed in 1050's and completed in 1973 - to celebrate it's 50th anniversary meeting the highest building environment criteria.
3S Lighting was selected in 2013 to supply Xicato LED based luminaires for Foyers of the Concert Hall, all made to match SOH's original luminaires in terms of appearance, size and fixing method, to ensure the new fixtures would incorporate well into the existing interior without any negative effect on the initial design intent.
At the moment we are manufacturing luminaires for the second part of the SOH - The Joan Sutherland Theatre. The designers has opted for the Xicato XTM LED modules in Artist Series, which improved in efficacies from the modules available in 2013.
We are proud to be associated in this process, and contribute to the process of updating the lighting installation at Sydney Opera House to the best current technologies do offer, as well as enhancing the interiors of such iconic building.
